Registration Process

• Lottery registration for the 2024-25 school year will open Tuesday, January 2, when we return from winter break.

• Interested parents are strongly encouraged to attend parent information meetings and tours to learn about the lottery process and our school’s program.

• Siblings of current Desert Sky students must complete the Enrollment Application for placement. Siblings of Desert Sky Montessori students are given priority.

• Notification of lottery results will be sent by the school’s office.

Eligibility

• Any student residing within the Bend-La Pine Schools' boundaries is eligible to attend Desert Sky Montessori.

• If resident students do not request all of the space available, non-resident students may be enrolled.

• For kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024.

Lottery Process

• The K-6 lottery will be held after spring break each year and parents will be notified of their student's status by mid-April.

• Acceptance into one of the charter/magnet programs is non-transferable.

Waitlist

Once the lottery is completed, and an opening occurs, the first name on the waiting list becomes eligible to fill that spot. A family will have one opportunity to rotate to the bottom of the waiting list. The second time a family becomes eligible, they must either accept the opening or be removed from the waiting list.

The waiting list is for one school year. For a family to remain on the waiting list, they must reapply for the following year’s lottery.

Grades 1-6 LOTTERY CLOSED

The lottery application period will be January 2, 2024 to January 26, 2024

Applications received after 3:00pm PST on January 19, 2024 will be added to the waiting list and spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
