Registration Process
Lottery registration for the 2024-25 school year will open Tuesday, January 2, when we return from winter break.
Interested parents are strongly encouraged to attend parent information meetings and tours to learn about the lottery process and our school’s program.
Siblings of current Desert Sky students must complete the Enrollment Application for placement. Siblings of Desert Sky Montessori students are given priority.
Notification of lottery results will be sent by the school’s office.
Eligibility
Any student residing within the Bend-La Pine Schools' boundaries is eligible to attend Desert Sky Montessori.
If resident students do not request all of the space available, non-resident students may be enrolled.
For kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024.
Lottery Process
The K-6 lottery will be held after spring break each year and parents will be notified of their student's status by mid-April.
Acceptance into one of the charter/magnet programs is non-transferable.
Waitlist
Once the lottery is completed, and an opening occurs, the first name on the waiting list becomes eligible to fill that spot. A family will have one opportunity to rotate to the bottom of the waiting list. The second time a family becomes eligible, they must either accept the opening or be removed from the waiting list.
The waiting list is for one school year. For a family to remain on the waiting list, they must reapply for the following year’s lottery.
