Nan was raised in Ashland then moved to Eugene where she attended the University of Oregon. After living in Eugene she decided to move to Seattle.
Nan enjoyed hiking and camping on Mt. Rainier, in the Cascade mountains and the Olympic peninsula during her years in Seattle, where she married and had three sons, Jeremy, Ryan and Chris. Jeremy lives here in Bend, Ryan is still in Seattle and Chris is living in Santa Monica, CA. While her boys were young she enjoyed volunteering in her son’s classrooms and chaperoning many field trips.
After the boys moved on to middle school, she continued to follow her joy of working with children by becoming a morning teacher at a pre-school. In the afternoon she found her passion working with elementary school age children in an after school program there she enjoyed planning and implementing activities throughout the school year.
Once her sons graduated from college and moved on with lives of her own, she decided to return to Oregon, being pulled toward Bend. She relocated to Bend in 2017 and loves hiking and exploring such a beautiful part of the country.
Nan is very excited to become a part of Desert Sky Montessori’s community and work as the lead teacher for our After Care Program.
